Alessandro Fanfoni

Alessandro Fanfoni joined Stogit (a subsidiary of Snam and the leading European player in gas storage) in 2015, initially being responsible for the waste management during the decomissioning phase of the old Bordolano Gas Storage Facility and subsequently as HSE Supervisor of the construction and commissioning phases for the New Bordolano Gas Storage Facility.

He joined since August 2020 Snam Corporate HSEQ Department, as OH&S Specialist providing support and coordination to all subsidiaries of SNAM.

Among the others he is in charge of the management of the GNL ITALIA’S Risk Assessment Document, of the training management process and providing QHSE support for National and International Business Development Projects.

He is one of the Team Leaders of the Lean Project for the optimization of Permit To Work System for Snam and its Italian subsidiaries.

Along his career Andrea has covered different role at primary Companies and Institutions (eni, Politecnico di Milano, RCS mediagroup, Snam) with experiences ranging from the field of HSE Training, Environment pollutants dispersion modelling, OHS Management systems and Lean Six Sigma applied to staff processes reengineering.

On January 2021 after completing as an expat the set-up of Albania Gas Service Company HSE Management system, he moved back to Snam where is currently in charge as Head of the Environment and HSEQ Audit Function at Snam and as Responsible of the Snam Competence Centre for Safety in the workplaces.

Angelos Liapis

Dr. Liapis is currently the CEO of Konnekt-able Technologies Ltd. and Manager of EU Research & Innovation Development at the Decision Support Systems Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens.

He has worked as an R&D Director, senior R&D manager, active researcher and ICT specialist with experience in implementing and managing EC funded ICT projects (H2020, FP7, FP6, PSP-ICT, ENPI).

Dr. Aggelos Liapis – was a Marie Currie PostDoc on the three dimensional anatomical human research and training network, holds a PhD in Computer Mediated Collaborative Design Environments from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, two Masters Degrees from the Universities of Sunderland and Hull in Network Systems and Computer Graphics and Virtual Environments, respectively, and a Bachelor’s degree in Software Development from Lincoln University in Hull.

Beyond his academic and industrial duties Dr. Liapis has authored several papers, journals, and books in the areas of CSCW, Collaborative Design, Semantics, etc.

Christina Alexandropoulou Alexander

As Vice Chair for the ASIS International Aegean Chapter, Steering Committee Member for OSAC in Greece, Member of the European Fire Safety Community and Working Group member for the project to develop a Fire Safety Rating Scheme for Buildings, Leader of the 1st Lean In Circle for Women In Security in Greece, Mentor for ASIS Women in Security (WIS) and WIS country leader, nominated for the 2021 GIWA in Hospitality (Greek International Women Award) and winner of the 2020 Gold Security Excellence Award in Greece, Christina is widely respected in the industry and her insights shape debate about Security issues.

Dr. Christos Argyropoulos is Adjunct Assistant Professor in Health Risk Assessment at the School of Medicine, European University Cyprus. He holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from National Technical University of Athens in 2006.
He also received two MSc in "Computational Mechanics" and "Mathematical Modelling in Modern Technologies and Financial Engineering" from the same university in 2008 and 2010, respectively.
He earned his D.I.C. and Ph.D. in Computational Fluid Dynamics from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London in 2015. From November 2015 to May 2018, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University and Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center at Qatar.
In 2018, he obtained a prestigious 3-year industrial research fellowship at NCSR "Demokritos" funding by Stavros Niarchos Foundation and Motor Oil Hellas. His research interests based on the importance of multidisciplinary.
In general, he deals with the development of processes and models for the investigation of complex phenomena in the field of fluid mechanics, health risk assessment, public health, environmental health and exposure, occupational health and safety, and indoor air quality.

Dr Cleo Varianou-Mikellidou, PhD in Occupational Safety & Health, MSc in Safety, Health and Environment and BSc in Physics.

Her research interests focus on the risks from age-related changes and the application of the occupational health and safety management systems, ergonomics, teleworking, well-being.

She is currently a Research Fellow at CERIDES of European University Cyprus.

Cleo is also a Health and Safety Consultant since 2009. She has extensive experience in training, advising and consulting companies on how to maintain a safe and healthy working environment applying risk assessments, how to adhere to Health and Safety legislation, and how to gain certification according to the International standards ISO 9001, ISO 45001, EMAS, and ISO 14001.

His research activity is focused in the field of environmental epidemiology, in particular on the study of the relationships between environment and health.
Within the IMPRESS Project (IMproving Preparedness and Response of HEalth Services in major criseS, FP7 EU Project No:608078) he was responsible for the Palermo Demo, that was held in June 2016 at the harbor of Palermo, Sicily and simulated the release of toxic substances due to a fire occurred on board a ship moored just outside the Palermo harbor, with victims on board and – due to the toxic fumes – among citizens in the city areas close to the harbor.

In April 2022 he was in charge of the first Use Case developed within the Search & Rescue Project (Emerging technologies for the Early location of Entrapped victims under Collapsed Structures & Advanced Wearables for risk assessment and First Responders Safety in SAR operations, Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, grant agreement No. 882877): the exercise simulated – in a real scenario – the presence of victims under rubbles after an earthquake.

Georgios Florides

Georgios Florides studied Mechanical Engineering at the RWTH-Aachen in Germany and received his Master Degree as “Diplom Ingenieur” with specialization in Energy Technology.

He also managed/participated in several multi-year projects related to the area of his expertise. He has taken part in interviews and discussions on TV regarding issues relevant to his expertise. He is a regular author of relevant articles for the daily press and journals.
